Excellent all-round performance by captain Swagatika Rath guided Odisha to a 38-run win over Bengal in their fourth and last league match of the East Zone Under-19 Women’s Cricket Tournament at Guwahati today. This was the third win for the Odisha eves and they qualified for the knock-out round, which is scheduled to be hosted by West Zone from November 7 to 20.
Batting first, Odisha rode on a 51-ball 43 by Swagatika to make a modest total of 96 in 44 overs. In reply, Bengal were bundled out for 58 in 34.4 overs. Swagatika, Siprarani Rout and Sushree Dibyadarshini Pradhan bagged three wickets each for the winning side. Odisha, who earlier beat Tripura and Jharkhand but lost to Assam, ended their campaign with 12 points.
